The tech world is moving fast and we’re in for the ride! The JDK 12 development repositories are open and we thought it’s time to start a new thread in order to keep track of everything that’s going live.

Testcontainers: a lightweight Java library
We like to go through underappreciated Java libraries on the regular to shine a light on some gems. Last week, we had a look at Testcontainers, a Java library that supports JUnit tests. Now, developers can easily launch useful Docker containers full of whatever they need during their JUnit tests.

Apache Spark 2.4 is here
Apache Spark is a unified analytics engine for large-scale data processing. Designed for speed and general-purpose use, Apache Spark is one of the most popular projects under the Apache software umbrella and one of the most active open source big data projects. The 2.4 release brings experimental support for Scala 2.12 and it is full of improvements and upgrades to create a faster, easier, and smarter experience for big data developers.
