The first update of the year from The TIOBE Index arrived last week with new rankings of the top programming languages. This update announced the winner of the “Programming Language of the Year” award. Congratulations C! Thanks to its usage in embedded devices and the Internet of Things, C won the award and entered the hall of fame for 2019.

Quarkus 1.1.1.Final released, v1.2 coming with GraalVM 19.3 support

A new version of supersonic, subatomic Java framework Quarkus was released last week, paving the way for the next big release in late January. We also took a look at the contents of Quarkus 1.1.0.Final and why GraalVM 19.3 support has been delayed until Quarkus 1.2.
