The iPhone 15’s headlining feature is its USB-C connector. Of course, we first learned about this feature in late 2022, when Apple plainly confirmed that it would switch to USB-C in compliance with upcoming EU regulations. Most people celebrated the 2022 announcement, but others have spent the last year wondering how Apple would inevitably screw things up—an incomplete version of the USB-C standard, for instance, or an authentication system that forces you to use expensive Apple-certified charging cables.
