The Nintendo Switch is great—it’s fun for the whole family, and you can take it with you. The thing is, if you want to take it all with you, it’s pretty bulky. The GENKI Covert Dock is the solution.
This practical little gadget is a dock hidden inside a GaN (gallium nitride) charger for the ultimate portability. The GENKI offers USB-C PD charging, and USB 3.1 accessory port, and HDMI out all in a charger that isn’t much bigger than a typical phone wall wart. It’s ten times smaller than the Switch Dock and 22 percent smaller than the stock Nintendo charger. It’s pretty tiny.
Before you get too excited, though, we should point out that this is still a Kickstarter project, so there’s a small chance it won’t come to fruition (unlikely). On the upside, it’s from Human Things, which successfully funded and launched another product (a Bluetooth audio dongle for the Switch), so at least it has a good track record.
But yeah, if you take your Switch, dock, charger, and all that other stuff with you often, this looks like a killer solution to increase portability. To learn more or back the project, jump over to Kickstarter—it’s gained over $27,000 in backing just while I was writing this article. Impressive.
