Maroon 5 and Travis Scott really went and did a tribute to SpongeBob during their Super Bowl LII performance. 

Travis Scott opened his performance of “Sicko Mode” with scenes from SpongeBob’s iconic rendition of “Sweet Victory.”

SpongeBob SquarePants fans launched a Change.org petition in November 2018 after the death of Stephen Hillenburg, who created the beloved series, calling for artists to perform “Sweet Victory” in his honor. The song is from a 2001 episode where the sea creatures performed at the “Bubble Bowl,” and the petition got more than 1.2 million signatures.  Read more…
