SAVE $400: The 2021 14-inch MacBook Pro (M1 Pro chip, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) is on sale for $1,599 at Best Buy as of Sept. 2 — that’s 20% in savings and the lowest price we’ve seen.
Good things come to those who wait to buy new MacBooks. If you held off on upgrading your laptop in hopes of scoring a Labor Day deal, your efforts have been rewarded with $400 in savings on the 2021 MacBook Pro.
As of Sept. 2, the 2021 14-inch MacBook Pro (M1 Pro chip, 16GB, 512GB SSD) base model is on sale for $1,599 at Best Buy. That’s 20% in savings and the lowest price we’ve seen to date. In comparison, it was listed for $200 more at $1,799 on Prime Day in July. The same base model is sold out at Amazon at that price, FWIW.
Don’t worry about missing out on the perks of buying from Apple directly. You’ll actually get more with your purchase via Best Buy — the M1 Pro MacBook Pro comes with six free months of Apple Music and Apple News+, as well as three free months of Apple TV+ (new or returning subscribers only).
Released at the end of 2021, the 14-inch MacBook Pro features Apple’s custom-made M1 Pro silicon chip, which is said to be 70 percent faster than the original M1 chip from 2020. It also includes a notably-updated Liquid Retina XDR display, 1080p FaceTime camera, the return of physical function keys, more ports, a MagSafe power cable, and more — some of which were long overdue upgrades.
It’s certainly a powerhouse, but it’s not exactly the best choice for casual laptop users. As Mashable deputy tech editor Joseph Volpe puts it in his full review, “Would I prefer to work on this M1 MacBook Pro? Absolutely. Do I need to? Not at all.”
Creatives who need a video editing and graphics workstation, on the other hand, could definitely benefit from this beast of a machine. And your wallet will appreciate the $400 discount.
