As the novel coronavirus continues to spread around the globe, the United States has found its epicenter for the potentially deadly illness.
New York City, the nation’s most populous and one of its densest cities, has thousands of positive cases and dozens of deaths at the time of writing. Both figures are sure to keep rising, especially as the state ramps up testing. As such, new stay-at-home rules going into effect on Sunday night will further quiet the city that never sleeps.
All nonessential businesses will close and people are strongly urged to stay home unless it is absolutely necessary to go outside. It’s not quite as strict as what’s happening in Italy, but the effects are similar: Iconic, typically packed NYC locales are now eerily empty. Read more…
