Saturday Night Live hosts try their best to remain in character, but sometimes they crack — and when they do, it’s a delight to behold. Last night, host and musical guest Lizzo couldn’t help but giggle while playing the role of a trivia show contestant.
During the sketch, her character gets frustrated by the show host, played by Kenan Thompson, to the point of wanting to quit the game. She accuses the host of thinking he’s “the mayor of Game Town,” which sounds like a Flavor Town-adjacent suburb. Around four minutes into the game, Lizzo raises her hand and breaks as she asks if she can be the next mayor. It’s not necessarily her fault — Thompson lets a few laughs escape him, as well.
Seems like the next Game Town election is going to be fierce.
