Thanks to the MCU, it seems like every major action movie features a post-credits scene teasing new franchise installments, or even a quick joke for the audience to laugh at. But does 2024 action tentpole Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga follow this pattern?
‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’ review: George Miller’s blazing action folktale might just have outdone ‘Fury Road’
The latest film from George Miller serves as a prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road, telling the story of how Imperator Furiosa (played first by Charlize Theron, now by Anya Taylor-Joy) was taken from her home in the Green Place and came to serve warlord Immortan Joe. Given Furiosa‘s prequel status, you might expect Miller to include a post-credits scene further linking the film to Fury Road.
However, that’s not what happens. Furiosa does not have a new post-credits scene. Instead, it weaves footage from Fury Road throughout the credits, ending on a very quick flash from the film. As if Furiosa‘s excellence weren’t already enough, these credits will make you crave a Fury Road rewatch in all its shiny, chrome glory.
On top of reliving some of Fury Road‘s greatest hits, watching the Furiosa credits is a perfect way to appreciate the work of the many artists who brought it to life. Plus, you’ll get to witness all of the movie’s bonkers character names, like “the Octoboss,” “Smeg,” and more.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is now in theaters.
