While most responses have been positive, right wing politicians like Ted Cruz have propelled the Big Bird tweet to center stage, calling the vax status the latest form of “government propaganda.” To which, we must remind you, Ted Cruz himself is vaccinated.
This isn’t the first time Big Bird has led the charge for child vaccinations. The muppet has long been pro-vaccine, encouraging children to get their shots and not be afraid. Some adults even remembered Big Bird getting his first ever vaccine back in 1972 in the replies to his vax status tweet.
