Jerry Mitchell: It’s a good question. The evidence obviously appears to point to James Earl Ray. A number of people believe he was set up. Who knows? There’s plenty of evidence that Ray pulled the trigger. He may have killed with the belief that the Klan or others would reward him. I wouldn’t doubt there was some kind of conspiracy to kill King.
