When I rediscovered reading 12 years ago, it was just before I headed home for Christmas. In the UK, where I’m from, the world more or less stops for ten days to two weeks in December as many people, regardless of their faith tradition, take a break to recharge, eat too much turkey, spend time with family, and watch heartwarming films on the BBC. It’s a truly a magical time – and the perfect time to catch up on reading.

It’s like an early Christmas gift. 🎁 I’m really excited about my choices this month! For December, I chose Dear Edward and Long Bright River. Dear Edward is a contemporary fiction about a plane crash survivor trying to find his place in the world while living in the public eye. Long Bright River is a mystery crime novel following the opioid crisis in Philadelphia. These both sound great and I can’t wait to start reading them.

I felt like the plot could have been done a lot better but it’s a pretty easy read.
