The future of Jakarta EE: javax namespace restrictions and the options moving forward

The announcement about the restrictions regarding Jakarta EE and its use of the javax namespace received mixed feelings among the community. While some people were really angry about Oracle’s position, others view the current events as a chance to get rid of uncomfortable legacies. But how will the transition from javax to jakarta be done?

Tanja Obradovic took the time to give us some insight about the two options that the community is now considering for solving the problem.

Tanja Obradovic joined the Eclipse Foundation to work on Jakarta EE in June 2018. Having been involved with Java and Java EE for quite some time, revitalizing Enterprise Java seemed like a good challenge and a great fit for Tanja!
