YouTube sensation David Dobrik was up-front heading into his Hot Ones experience: He’s not good with spicy foods. He wasn’t lying.
By just the second wing, he was struggling. Things, predictably, did not get better, considering the wings get increasingly spicier.
Thankfully the interview, as things typically go with “Hot Ones,” was fascinating — particularly the bits where Dobrik explained the pitfalls of trying to explain to some people what, exactly, a major digital influencer does (beyond rake in money).
By the time Dobrik hit the home stretch, he was truly, truly hurting.
“When I imagined this show, I thought it was going to be like, ‘My eyes are gonna be watering,'” he said. “I thought it was going to be like funny. But it’s painful. It’s pain. It’s pain I’m experiencing. It’s not like joyous discomfort.” Read more…
